NC Bourbon & Spirits Festival
Be a part of the celebration of North Carolina’s homegrown spirits at the second annual NC Bourbon Festival, on September 28, at the Weldon Mills Theatre in Roanoke Rapids. The fun starts at 2 p.m., with tastings, live entertainment, and numerous activities scheduled throughout the afternoon and evening. Note that this is a 21-plus event, so find a sitter for the kids and plan on having a fantastic afternoon and evening enjoying the region’s best drinks, food, and music.
Sample the Finest North Carolina Spirits
Sample some of the state’s best bourbon and other spirits from makers such as Buffalo City Distillery, Liberty & Plenty Distillery, and Remedy Cocktail Co. Among the numerous food trucks at the celebration, you’ll find everything from a quick snack at Country Roads Kettle Corn or The Hotdog Shack of Roanoke Rapids to a heaping plate of barbecue from Off the Hog or a juicy burger from Big John’s Mobile Grill.
Fun All Day Long
In addition to savoring the food and drinks, you can peruse a wide variety of vendors, from the artisan goods at Deeper Roots Candle Co. and Ragland’s Top Shelf Bottle Crafts to a mouth-tingling selection from Oak City Hot Sauce. Other shops include Legacy Tobacco Co., The Glass House, and Bootleggers Dezignz.
A rockin’ lineup of live music will keep you grooving throughout the day and into the night. DJ Dank starts off the show at 2 p.m., followed by The Cove at 4 p.m., Davisson Brothers at 5:30 p.m., Frank Foster at 7 p.m., and The Steel Woods closing out the festival at 9 p.m.
